- The Conxemar International Frozen Seafood Products Fair brings together in Vigo the entire value chain of the processing sector: wholesalers, importers, exporters, auxiliary services, distributors and manufacturers, among others
València, 2 October 2024.-The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) is participating in the 25th Conxemar International Frozen Seafood Products Fair, one of the largest meetings of the logistics and refeer transport sector, which is being held from 1 to 3 October in Vigo. This meeting point brings together the entire value chain of the processing sector: wholesalers, importers, exporters, auxiliary services, distributors and manufacturers, among others.
The Valenciaport delegation, led by Marta Alborch, head of Customer Experience, is attending with the aim of highlighting its high connectivity and facilities for this type of traffic. In various meetings with relevant agents of the logistics sector, Alborch has highlighted the importance of the ‘hub’ function that Valenciaport offers to reefer companies, based on the hundred or so regular services with the five continents for perishable traffic, which enables access to many more markets, cost reduction and great competitiveness for these companies.
In recent years, the reefer sector has increased its traffic from Valenciaport’s docks. China, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Canada, South Korea and Brazil are the main destinations for these products leaving the docks of the Valencian precinct. Imports come from markets such as China, Peru, India, Brazil and Senegal, among others.
Valenciaport, specialist in reefer traffic
Every year, an average of around three million tonnes of fish, meat products and fruit and vegetables from all over Spain (fruit, citrus fruits, vegetables, tubers, etc.) enter and leave the Valencian docks. This is possible thanks to the reefer connections of its terminals: CSP Iberian (Cosco) has 1,500 connections, APM (Maersk) has 750 and MSC Terminal another 1,000. Infrastructures provided by the terminal companies, to which must be added the warehouse of the Agro Merchants Group company – which has 16,000 square metres destined exclusively for the logistics of refrigerated products – , the 17,000 square metre Border Control Post (PCF) which, through the Guarantee Mark, guarantees that any container taken to these facilities must be checked in less than 45 minutes and the Border Control Post of the Port of Sagunto; all of these facilities have growing demands.
