The traditional Christmas act of the PAV also serves to recognize the work of the IT team for its agile response to the global attack of the Wannacry virus last May.

 The institution has presented the prizes to the winners of the photography and Christmas postcards contests in the children and youth categories.

Valencia, December the 27th 2017. – The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has closed the year with the traditional Christmas act, which has served to pay tribute to workers of the institution and deliver the prizes of the contests photography and Christmas postcards. The event, held at the facilities of the Port Authority of Valencia, was attended by the president of the PAV, Aurelio Martínez; the general director of the institution, Francesc Sánchez and the director of organization and human resources, Elena Oliver. 

During the ceremony, tribute was paid to all those workers who this year have completed 25 years of experience in the institution, a recognition that began to be granted 6 years ago. On this occasion there are 20 workers with a quarter of a century developing their work in the Port of Valencia and to which a badge has been delivered on the occasion of this event. Vicente Alcañiz Ponce, Charo Arizo Ballester, Julián Azorín Muñoz, Antonio Baus Lezcano, Diego Carrera Vozmediano, Antonio Cebrian Martinez, Fructuoso Lorenzo Curto Peña, Pablo Díaz-Jorge Gil, Teo Díaz-Jorge Gil, Jose Vicente Hernández Serrano, Joaquín Martínez Gonzalez, Julio Mougan Acuña, Martin Pérez Salom, Antonio Roig Pellicer, Javier Ruiz Haba and Angela Torrijo Arce.

Also, this year the PAV Information Technology team received also a special recognition for the agility in its response to the global cyber-attack last May of the Wannacry virus, which affected 150 countries and supposed the cyber-kidnapping of almost 300,000 computers of companies and institutions. The work of the information technology team allowed control of the activity in the port of Valencia to be normalized in reverse, unlike what happened in other ports of the world, which suffered Millionaires loses. The workers who have received the recognition of PAV are Javier Gallego, Juan Suarez, Luis Pastor, Ignacio Calduch, José Manuel Ibáñez and José García de la Guía.

Drawing and photography contests

The event also served to deliver the awards of the Photography Competition of the Port Authority of Valencia 2017. In this edition, the winning images were: “V.01.I-skeleton” by José Luis Aznar Puente, which has been raised with the first prize; “T-oleaje de cristal” by Vicente Ballester Navarro, who has won the second prize; and “X.II. Prince Felipe Museum “by Francisco Montesino Broch has won the third prize of the contest.

Likewise, during the ceremony the prizes of the two drawing competitions for Christmas postcards of the Port Authority of Valencia were delivered. In the children’s category, Daniela Clemente Navarro with her motto “Christmas is coming” has won the first prize; Carla Martínez Gilabert, with her postcard “Merci Navidad”, has won the second prize; and José Toro Blaya, with “El barco de la Navidad” has won the third prize.

As for the youth category, Amparo Gil Costa has been the winner with the postcard “Valenciaport li desitja a tot el món Bon Nadal”; the second prize went to Marta Gonzalo with the postcard “El desembarco de los Reyes Magos”; and the third prize was obtained by Paula Crespo Blaya with her drawing “Desembarco Real”.
