  • The PAV Board of Directors has today awarded Grupo NAB (Noatum, Algeposa, Boluda) the construction and operation of a multi-purpose public terminal at Muelle Centro 2 in the port of Sagunto: more than 250,000 square metres of surface area with its own railway terminal
  • The meeting also approved the tender documents for a processing and production plant for renewable fuels in the Port of Sagunto

València, 13 de mayo de 2025.- The Port of Sagunto, a strategic logistics enclave for the development of Spanish import/export, is taking new steps to consolidate innovation and sustainability as the cornerstones of its growth.

And with this objective on the immediate horizon, the Board of Directors of the Port Authority of València (PAV), at its meeting today, approved the granting to Noatum Terminals Group, Inversiones Algeposa and Boluda Lines (NAB Group) of an administrative concession for the occupation of public property in the port of Sagunto for the construction and operation of a multi-purpose public terminal at Muelle Centro 2. The term granted for this concession is 40 years.

The spatial scope of this multi-purpose terminal – not including the water surface – amounts to 252,115 square metres of land for: esplanade, manoeuvring area, plot corresponding to the storage facility and railway terminal.

Grupo NAB will build a multi-purpose maritime terminal whose main activity will be the handling of goods – preferably general cargo – and the operation of a rail freight terminal, open to general commercial traffic.

In this sense, the area of land for the railway terminal (adjacent to the esplanade of the multi-purpose terminal) is 25,811 square metres and the successful bidder will provide a railway service to all users of the port.

A reference in the renewable fuels sector

At the same meeting, the councillors approved the specifications which will govern the tender for the granting of an administrative concession for the occupation of the public port domain for the construction and operation of a plant for the processing and production of renewable fuels (for loading and unloading) also in the port of Sagunto. This project – which is being put out to tender for a period of 25 years – represents an opportunity to attract strategic investments, promote competitiveness and reinforce the position of the port in a global market in constant evolution.

The PAV is working to make the Port of Sagunto a benchmark in the renewable fuels sector, offering operators a unique opportunity to participate in a growing market. The aim of this new infrastructure – which will be located on a plot of approximately 27,800 m2 located to the south of Muelle Sur Dos – is to consolidate the Port of Sagunto as a hub for the production, storage, loading and unloading of renewable fuels.

The privileged location of this port together with its land and sea connections give it a competitive advantage that makes it a natural attraction for operators in the sector.
