The Port Authority of Valencia is applying this cleaning method by pouring liquid through the pipes, a pioneering system in Spain that is much more effective than conventional ones.

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) has implemented a new system of liquid ice technology to guarantee the sanitation of wastewater. This pipeline cleaning system, which is being applied for the first time in a Spanish port, drags the accumulated sediments and deposits and produces a descaling effect far superior to that of water and chlorine drainage or other conventional mechanisms.

During this morning, the PAV staff is working together with the ‘ice pigging technology’ company to clean the pipes. Valenciaport is committed to the application and use of new technologies and systems that operate more efficiently and at the same time are environmentally friendly, such as this method to eliminate bacteria adhering to the internal surfaces of the pipes.
