València, 5 June 2025.- On the occasion of World Environment Day, today, Thursday 5 June, Valenciaport, accompanied by the Valenciaport Foundation and the Ecoport working group (made up of companies from the port community), organised an information day on the research and use of new fuels in the maritime-port sector.

This event, was held in the Clock Building of the Port of Valencia under the slogan ‘New fuels’. Leading experts from companies such as Balearia, Moeve, Repsol Technology Lab, MAN Energy, Sacania Ibérica and the Chema Ballester Group took part in order to explain the uses, applications and research of marine and land-based fuels.

Federico Torres, head of Ecological Transition of the Port Authority of Valencia, introduced the event, which also included the participation of Bureau Veritas Spain.

A month devoted to the environment

The environment has become the transversal axis of Valenciaport’s activity, a strategy promoted with the aim of achieving climate neutrality in all its activity.

For this reason, the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV) is once again dedicating the month of June to the protection of the natural environment and throughout the month it has programmed informative activities centred on this theme.

Thus, until 29 June, the hall of the Clock Building is hosting the exhibition ‘Consciència en verd’ (Awareness in green), made up of cartoons that, through humour, invite us to reflect on responsible behaviour towards nature. Mafalda is the main protagonist, but not the only one, as, together with Quino’s cartoons, visitors can enjoy the creative work of other international graphic artists who, in a humorous and ironic tone, invite us to become aware of the importance of caring for the natural environment. In parallel to the exhibition – which can be visited free of charge from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. – and the day, the APV has organised educational workshops in the Clock Building aimed at raising awareness among young people of its commitment to environmental care and the importance of reducing carbon emissions. Aimed at pupils from 5 years of age and with the aim of stimulating the imagination and raising awareness about the environment.
