Valencia, 9th of January 2026 – The Valenciaport exhibition “Juguem? Redescobrim els nostres joguets” has received more than 4,000 visitors since it opened its doors on 20 December. Visitors have taken advantage of the Christmas holidays to visit an exhibition that pays tribute to a sector with a strong export focus, which has used the Port of Valencia as its main gateway to different parts of the world.

The exhibition, curated by art historian Ester Medán, has been organised in collaboration with the Valencian Toy Museum, through its coordinator, Pilar Avilés, and has been open to the public every day over Christmas, New Year and Epiphany, making it one of the favourite options for both Valencians and visitors who have taken advantage of the holidays to get to know the city of Valencia.

The exhibition space also hosted workshops and activities for children, who were able to leave their letters to the Three Kings in the royal mailbox provided for this purpose.

Medán explained that the aim of this exhibition is to recognise a key Valencian industry, whose products “have travelled all over the world.

The Port of Valencia has sought to transform its long-standing export tradition into an exhibition and tribute to toys. In addition to showcasing the creativity of the sector, the exhibition also allows visitors to take a journey through the history of this Valencian industry,” he concluded.

Located in the Clock Building of the Port of Valencia, the exhibition will remain open to the public until 8th February. Admission is free from Monday to Sunday, between 11am and 6.30pm.

A book about games in maritime Valencia

As part of the activities organised around the exhibition, Pep Martorell’s book ‘Xinxes i caparres. Els jocs infantils a la València marinera’ (Games and bets. Children’s games in maritime Valencia) will be presented on 28 January.

The presentation of this book, which revives the traditional games of maritime Valencia, will also feature Lola Prima, an educator specialising in childhood, who will talk about play as a tool for social inclusion and the development of children’s physical, psychological and social skills.

The workshops will be held in January and February

The exhibition has been accompanied by a series of educational workshops designed to enable participants to learn about the history and values of the Valencian Community in a fun way through popular games, promoting social interaction and developing physical and cooperative skills. The workshops are also free of charge and are held in the Clock Building or outside if the weather permits. The next workshops are scheduled for 10, 16, 22 and 27 January and 1 February, from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Children aged 5 and over are welcome to participate.
