The Board of Directors has approved this project that will provide information and scholarships to people to support their integration into the labour market

Aportem has established collaboration agreements with different associations focused on employment-oriented training

València, July 8th, 2021.- The Board of Directors of Aportem – Puerto Solidario Valencia has approved in its last meeting one of its most ambitious projects: Aportem Training and Employment. The initiative, which will have to be endorsed at the next General Assembly, is based on two complementary actions: informing and providing scholarships to open new opportunities for the future for those who find it most difficult. With this initiative, the Association will inform people about specific courses to enter the labour market or to have a second chance of employment. In addition, the people who take part in this project will have the support of Aportem for transport grants, or any other type of grant, subject to the annual budgets of this association for the promotion of CSR. The aim is to eliminate barriers to training and employment.

Aportem has established collaboration agreements with various associations focused on employment-oriented training. To present the options offered by these agreements, Aportem – Puerto Solidario Valencia will convene at the end of September the twenty schools and institutions with which it collaborates to learn about the details that the institutions offer for those looking for their first job or who want a second job opportunity. These associations work on the whole process, from the first contact with the people interested in their services, to the orientation in labour integration, training or internships. All this with a permanent accompaniment and support in each part of the process.

Focused on the environment

At the meeting of the Board of Directors of Aportem, an account was given of the latest campaigns carried out and those to be carried out soon. In June, new deliveries of prevention and safety material were made by COVID-19 to schools and institutions in the Maritime area. School and hygiene material and basic foodstuffs were also distributed. This last section has been exceptionally activated during the crisis resulting from the pandemic. Hundreds of families have received direct support from Aportem in the form of food or vouchers. The next campaign, which starts in July and will end in September, will aim to supply, as it does every year, school supplies, new clothes and footwear to some 700 children in the Maritime District of Valencia.

The meeting was also informed of the new actions of the No Plàstic campaign, in which Aportem participates, with the Port Employment Centre and Ecoport. This campaign aims to eliminate up to one million plastic bottles a year in the Port and its companies.

Aportem – Port Solidarity Valencia, is a totally private association, made up of associations, institutions, companies and individuals linked to the Valencian port sector. Its action is focused above all on the surroundings of the Port of Valencia, with special attention to the environment and children at risk of social exclusion.
