The program of school visits to the Port of Valencia which is organized by the Port Authority of Valencia has been consolidated among the educational community.

In total, in 2016 about 7,500 students from 200 different centers had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the port of Valencia to learn about the operation of the Valencian enclosure, 27% more than the previous year.

In addition to Valencia and its metropolitan area, the port of Valencia received visits from students from other places in Spain such as Castellón, Alicante, Teruel, Madrid or Albacete, and from outside Spain like France, USA, Holland or Chile. The visits, which are free of charge, are held weekly between February and June and from September to November and aim to publicize, in a didactic and informative way, the importance of the work carried out in the port.

The visiting program consists of two different modalities: a basic one directed to Primary and Secondary Education Schools; and another in training centers specialized in foreign trade and logistics as well as students of Baccalaureate and Training Cycles. In particular, primary and secondary school students take a one-hour sea tour through the commercial port. During the visit it is shown the operation of the port and the environmental and safety measures adopted and the type of goods that enter and leave the premises affecting the variety of objects of daily use that are channeled in a container.

On the other hand, the visits of the specialized training centers make a presentation and, later, a visit by sea. These two-hour meetings focus on the ports managed by the PAV (Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía) from the point of view of the role they play in the economy of the Valencian Community and the whole of Spain.

The visit of the facilities of the Port Authority of Valencia is one of the activities most cared for by the presidency of the port, since it is a demonstration of the desire to show the importance of a logistics infrastructure so powerful for the Valencian economy. Willingness to transparency that is appreciated by an increasing number of schools and universities in the Valencian Region.
