PAV has participated in the BREAKBULK EUROPE 2017

  Valencia, April 27th 2017. – Valenciaport has participated in the annual Breakbulk Europe 2017 event, held from April 24 to 26 in Antwerp (Belgium). The participation in this fair, which stands as the largest European meeting on cargo project, heavy cargo and ro-ro traffic logistics, has allowed Valenciaport, and in particular the port of Sagunto, represented at the fair by its director Juan Miguel Bernat, to show their competitive advantages over this type of traffic.

The Port Authority of Valencia (PAV), which has participated in the event at the Puertos del Estado stand, was represented by the Port Director of Sagunto, Juan Miguel Bernat, PAV Operations Director, Néstor Martínez and the attached to the direction cabinet of the PAV, Manuel José García. During its stay, the commercial team has maintained a round of contacts with logistics operators, shipping companies, manufacturers and intermediaries, while taking advantage of the opportunities of new contacts offered by the assistance. The director of the port of Sagunto has stated that “after several meetings with companies in the sector, we return from Antwerp with two or three possible projects that can be very interesting for the PAV”. Juan Miguel Bernat also said that this fair is “the excellence appointment of the port of Sagunto for the type of traffics to which it is dedicated and for its annual capacity to convene. The Port of Sagunto´s stand is the main protagonist of this event above those of Valencia or Gandía for its polyvalence, experience, layout of spaces and handled equipment”.

The PAV has attended this event showing the potential of this type of traffic. The port of Sagunto has a total area of 219,000 square meters and 55,000 m2 of warehouses and 4 ro-ro ramps. The port of Valencia has 12,600 square meters and 3 ro-ro ramps and the port of Gandia has 71,440 square meters and 1 ro-ro ramp.

Next to the PAV delegation at BREAKBULK EUROPE 2017, several representatives of the port community of Sagunto were also present, such as the shipping company Simón Montoliu, and Miguel Ángel Garín of the company APMTV, representing the port community of Valencia.
