València, December 15th, 2022.- A total of 70 children took part in the Christmas greetings competition organised by the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV). It is a day of conviviality and didactics which brings the activity and the role played by the Port of Valencia closer to the youngest children.

The children were divided into four teams in which they took part in various workshops and games related to Christmas and the port world. The children who took part in this traditional competition, aged between 4 and 7 in the children’s category and between 8 and 12 in the youth category, were given a set of paint to draw a picture with their particular vision of the Port of Valencia and the forthcoming Christmas holidays.

The illustrations form part of a competition which will select the winners in the children’s and youth categories, who receive recognition from the PAV. The winning drawings will be used by the PAV as the image of the Christmas greeting card, as has been traditional in recent years.

In the children’s category, the first prize went to ‘La Navidad existe’ by Victoria Salas Calvo, aged 7. Second place went to ‘Una Navidad redonda’, a drawing by Emma Deehan Peña, aged 7, and third place went to ‘Nadal a Valenciaport’ by Enzo Clemente Navarro, aged 6.

In the youth category, the first prize went to Martina López Alagarda, aged 10, with her illustration ‘La vida marítima’. Second place went to ‘Navidad acuática’ by 9-year-old Rocío Gallego Salas, while ‘¡Hora de la Navidad!’ by 9-year-old Antonella Montagud Gallardo took third place.

The PAV thanked all the children who took part in this competition, highlighting their involvement in the day and the creativity of the drawings and presentations they made.

A very special visit

The event was attended by children from the staff of Valenciaport professionals and its participated companies: Fundación Valenciaport, V.P.I. Logística and Infoport. José Martín Robles, PAV Communication technician, explained that “it is a day for children and their families to enjoy a day of joint activities, encouraging their creativity, ingenuity and knowledge of the port world, while at the same time getting to know their families’ place of work”.Later, the children, accompanied by their families, took a boat trip around the Port of Valencia facilities where, as well as getting to know the daily activity of the port, they enjoyed a series of activities and games to make the trip around the port more enjoyable and educational.
