Valencia, 13 October 2025 – Valenciaport has awarded INTERIM SERVICES SOLUTIONS the contract to provide passenger assistance and information as part of the project to strengthen border security at the ports of Valencia and Sagunto.
The contract, worth a total of €584,767.59 (including VAT), aims to provide support to the National Police in managing passenger flows and implementing identity verification and immigration control procedures.
This work is part of the implementation of the Entry and Exit System (EES), and the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) at ports.
Specifically, the award is part of the project promoted by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), which is 75% co-financed by the European Union through the European Funds for Internal Security (FESI).
Installation of the container for border security
The Project also includes the installation of a container, which will become the centrepiece of the border security project. The infrastructure is already in transit and will soon be installed at the Port of Valencia.
The infrastructure will be equipped with advanced technology for passport scanning, passenger service and immigration control, including large windows, thermal insulation systems, adequate lighting and functional furniture.
Its design ensures efficient and secure operation, allowing identity verification and control procedures to be carried out efficiently and with every guarantee.
Collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and European institutions
This project responds to the APV’s objective of actively collaborating with the Ministry of the Interior and European institutions to improve border controls. In addition, verification and supervision tablets will be incorporated, which will facilitate the work of the control teams and increase efficiency in border information management.
