​​Valencia port will receive on next Tuesday, November the 1st, a simultaneous scale of four cruises. This is the second time that this circumstance occurs in this exercise.

Specifically, the exhibition will attend Sea Cloud vessel scales, Aidablu, Rhapsody of the Seas and Mein Schiff 5, which will land around 7,200 passengers in the city.

Sea Cloud vessel is an historical luxury sailboat with more than 80 years and with a capacity for only 64 passengers. Meanwhile,  Aidablue Vessel Company which is, Aidacruises, has capacity for 2,192 passengers. It is also expected the scale of Rhapsody of the Seas, owned by Royal Caribbean. This vessel, with a capacity for 2,417 passengers, has its own climbing wall for passengers.

Finally, Valencia will receive the scale of its Mein Schiff 5 vessel of the German company Tui Cruises that accommodates 2,760 passengers. This vessel, which has been built during this year, is specifically designed to be more energetically efficient managing to reduce energy consumption by 30% compared to vessels of the same size.

Cruise traffic

Valencia port ended 2015 with a total of 371.374 cruise tourists and it is expected to reach 402.000 cruise passengers in 2016. Currently, Valencia acts as a homeport to MSC Cruceros and Costa Cruceros shipping and also receives scales of other 34 companies from the sector. PAVs Strategic Plan expects the port to reach 600.000 passengers, 250 scales and 40 shipping in 2020.

Valencia port has two piers which permit the dockage of vessels of 300 meters length and other three piers located in the north expansion area to those ships which reach 300 meters length. All infrastructures have the latest standards in service quality matters and passenger and vessel security. Likewise, it is expected that PAV takes out the competition of the construction and operation of the new terminal in the cruise pier in the north expansion area for 2017.
