Port Authority of Valencia has renewed its commitment to the Global Compact of the United Nations maintained since 2011.
It is an international voluntary initiative that seeks to enhance the commitment of signatories to respect and promote certain principles considered basic and universal.
Adherence to this Agreement includes the acceptance of a Decalogue of Principles that are related to the protection of fundamental rights internationally recognized, non-violation of human rights, support for freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to bargain collectively, the elimination of all forms of forced or under compulsory, child labor eradication, the abolition of discrimination in employment, the development of preventive approach favoring the environment, promoting initiatives that promote greater environmental responsibility, development and dissemination of technologies that respect the environment and work against corruption.
Corporate Social Responsibility
The renewal of this commitment with the Global Compact of the United Nations is part of Port Authority of Valencia Social Responsibility policy. The Social Responsibility of PAV´s has the objective to combine port development with environmental care and protection and to enhance the commitment with the immediate surroundings, among others.
