The photographs show the port activity and the steelworks in the middle of the 20th century. A number of construction projects took place during this period, such as the extension of the coal quay, built in 1931 to supply coal to the iron and steel plant, and the long-awaited repair of the first section of the ore quay, damaged during the Civil War. Also shown are pictures of the installed electric cranes, which could operate interchangeably on both docks with the help of a slewing platform.
