For some years, Valenciaport has maintained environmental protection initiatives to achieve the right balance between commercial and economic growth and the protection of the environment in order to ensure sustainable development.

The environmental initiatives of the Port Authority of Valencia meant to respond to its Environment Policy are grouped together in two types of project:

Internal projects, ie, activities that the Port Authority carries out within the port precinct aimed at improving environmental aspects of its water, atmosphere and ground.

R&D projects, in which the Port Authority participates individually or together with other ports or European bodies and which aim, among other things, at unifying criteria and seeking solutions to port related environmental problems and also at facilitating the adoption of criteria in order the establish  European standards or regulations.
