The intense marketing campaign carried out by the PAV is aimed at increasing cruise traffic in the Port of Valencia by promoting Valencia as a tourist destination and its port as an ideal connection hub. Promotional activities carried out in 2005 included taking part in the main cruise industry trade fairs, in conjunction with the Valencia Tourism & Convention Bureau. These were:

 

o          The General Assemblies of MedCruise (Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports), the aim of which was to promote cruise traffic in the Mediterranean.

o          The Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention (annual): Miami (March 2005)

o          Seatrade Cruise Shipping (bi-annual): Geneva (September 2004)

o          Cruise3sixty (annual) (October 2005)

Furthermore, the PAV has a co-operation agreement with CACSA (the company that manages the City of the Arts and Sciences) and the Hotel and Catering Guild of Valencia, to promote Valencia and its new tourist attractions as a destination for cruise passengers.
