The Fundación Instituto Portuario de Estudios y Cooperación de la Comunidad Valenciana (FEPORTS) is a non-profit-making institution of general interest, founded conjointly by the Valencian regional government (Generalitat Valenciana) and the Port Authorities of Alicante, Castellón and Valencia in April 1998 and open to participation from other bodies and persons with similar concerns.

The purpose of the Foundation is to serve as a technology institute for the port sector of the Region of Valencia, furthering technological development, territorial integration and sustainable development. It is the body that has been made available to the Region for strengthening the port sector, both for port facilities of general interest and those that are the responsibility of the regional government.

The aim is to promote cooperation among the various agents operating in the port sector so that maximum development can be derived from the competitive-edge factor that regional ports contribute to the economy of the Region of Valencia.
