To be competitive, ports must shape themselves as large-scale logistics hubs which are fully integrated into global supply chains.
This is the purpose of Valenciaport Strategic Plan 2015 which was drawn up with the active participation of major customers and port operators as well as leading economic and social agents and aims at promoting the development of the three ports it manages – Valencia, Sagunto and Gandía – with the following key objectives:
Presentation of the Strategic Plan
- Consolidate Valenciaport as the main deep sea gateway on the Iberian peninsula.
- Convert Valenciaport into the regional distributor and leading intermodal logistics platform in the Mediterranean.
- Have the capacity in 2015 to handle a traffic of some 68 million tonnes and 4 million TEU.
The Plan contains seven strategic lines of development which are broken down into a further 25 priority strategic projects.
